Editorial Policy

Editorial standards

How we research, verify and correct our stories.

This policy explains the standards used by Minds That Created the Future to publish independent, bilingual and documented cultural journalism.

Our commitment

Accuracy before spectacle.

We tell complex human stories without manufacturing perfect heroes or simplifying the historical record. A dramatic detail is never more important than a verifiable one.

The journal is independently directed and edited by its founder, Roberto Carlos Gonzalez Reyes. Editorial decisions are not sold to sources, institutions or advertisers.

01
Editorial method

From the first question to publication

1

Selection

We choose a documented conflict, discovery, decision or little-known event that reveals the person beyond the monument.

2

Research

We consult books, archives, museums, academic publications and reliable institutional records.

3

Cross-checking

Dates, roles, places, relationships and central claims are compared across more than one source whenever possible.

4

Context

Events are explained within the standards, language and conditions of their period without excusing harm or erasing uncertainty.

5

Bilingual edition

Spanish and English versions preserve the same factual core, sources and editorial intent; they are edited for natural reading, not translated mechanically.

6

Final review

Before publication, the story is checked for chronology, names, central claims, image context, references and consistency between languages.

02
Source policy

Evidence has a hierarchy.

Preferred sources

  • Primary documents, correspondence, memoirs and contemporary records.
  • Museums, libraries, archives, universities and specialist institutions.
  • Academic publications and books from recognized publishers.
  • Serious journalism when it provides original reporting or expert documentation.

Sources we do not cite as authority

  • Wikipedia and social media are not used as bibliographic sources.
  • Unattributed lists, recycled viral claims and pages without editorial responsibility.
  • Modern tributes, fictional recreations or indirect objects presented as historical evidence.

Long-form stories conclude with a visible bibliography. References are placed at the end to preserve narrative flow; direct attribution is added within the text when clarity or disputed evidence requires it.

03
Corrections policy

A correction strengthens the archive.

How to report an error

Send the article URL, the passage in question and, when possible, the supporting source through the contact page.

What happens next

We review the evidence and update the Spanish and English versions together. Material factual changes receive an updated date and a correction note when the nature of the error requires it. Typographical or formatting fixes may be made without a note.

04
Artificial intelligence

Technology assists. Editorial responsibility remains human.

AI tools may support organization, language review, translation drafts, visual ideation and the creation of illustrative historical reconstructions. They are not accepted as historical sources and do not replace verification against books, archives, museums, academic work or institutional records.

No factual claim is published solely because an AI system produced it. Illustrative recreations are not treated as documentary photographs. Authentic institutional objects are identified with their institution, attribution and rights information whenever available.
